Shopping Carts

Shopping Carts

Over many years

Very little has changed

They still have crazy wheels

And a sturdy metal frame

They still hold a child

Seated in reverse

And she reaches for everything

When her mom’s head is turned

The rides are still a little rough

As the carts have no suspension

And the front ends need aligning

To prevent head-on collisions

The carts are still discarded

Around the parking lot

With no groceries left to carry

They’re left where cars are parked

A stock boy there corrals them

Into a little pen

And pushes a line of others

While shoppers are coming in

I am a Wal Mart stockman, and I approve this message.

Good write wc. I was a stockman partly, in a previous job. Some people still don't return them, even though they have to pay to 'unlock' a trolley to use it in the shop.
