If I knew the last time I saw you
was going to be the last time forever
I would have asked for one more hug.
I would have went in for one more kiss.
I would have asked you to hold me just a bit longer.
If I knew that in the long run
all you would do was break me
I would have never opened myself up to you.
I would have never relied so deeply on your love.
I would have never rooted myself into you.
You gave me false hope
of a wonderful future together.
You told me that you would be here forever
to always care for me.
You said you could never live without me,
but you seem to be doing just fine.
You can not say these things to someone
if you are not going to stick to them.
You hurt me
when you said you would always love me.
You lied
when you said nothing was wrong.
You broke promises
when you said you never broke one before.
But there is a first time for everything
and you seemed to have crossed plenty off the list.

Another amazing poem! Your way with words is amazing. I look forward to reading many more.

Well done and sadly true. Only emotions drive our hand to write. Pain, sorrow, love, passion are common to all. But poetry is the bread that drives the few to feed the many. Let the emotions always guide your heart and your hand and you will give a reason to your feelings to which many will relate. Hope to read you again soon.
