Through The Night

poetboy123

A suffocating darkness slips into the room

Shadows distorting it into a tomb

Where every candle flickers and dies

Silence deafens their final cries

But like a beaten cliffside against the shore

Enduring the waves more and more

Imagining the light at the end of the cave

Fighting for the victory they crave

In the night they see not the all-encompassing black

Instead, peering at the stars, determined to make up for what they lack

Every drop of failure only serves to increase the thirst for success

Every nightmare only fueling the dream they yearn to possess

The flames still burning amongst the pile of ashes and embers

The stars still gleaming upon the dark consuming the night sky

The hopes still living even when all else has died

With a raging soul set aflame and a star kindled to burn ever bright

Warring on with each and every breath through the night
