Summer Fishing

Summer Fishing

One summer I bought a fishing pole

With some money I had saved

It made me feel like a professional

And I fished some every day

I had a tackle box full of baits

Of all shapes and sizes

And a new reel too

That the fishing shows advertised

I became a talented fisherman

And caught my share of bass

On good days I rubbed a blister

With all the luck I had

Each day I fished was beautiful

In the sun and clear blue skies

Thankful to be out of school

I fished nearly all the time

I loved all the excitement

And the peace and quiet too

Each day I was delighted

And my tales were always true
