Bridge

hulheart

Two sides of the mountain upon sits a broken bridge
Two lovers stare and wonder how to cross this ridge
Lost, they know not what to do
Overwhelming, seems the path they pursue
Others tell them they will never cross
Sometimes they themselves think hope is lost
As their fear of pain , of hurt and loss
Freezes their progress and dims their cause
A tingling spreads up and down and havoc it does wreak
Their breath seems to leave and their knees get week
They begin to step as planks begin to fall
And they stumble as they feel and wind and ground start to call
As they slowly make their way
As the bridge continues to sway
And it begins to look that they may
Fall to far because of the decay
Then together the look in each other’s eyes
And they know those thoughts are lies
With a touch of their hands a spark is sent
And feeds the fire that ignited the moment they met
In that moment their souls seem to dance
And they begin to know they have a chance
They are feeling the fire burning bright
They keep their goal in their sight
Together this journey began
Together this journey will end
Together hand in hand
They cross this bridge to fresh land
With their fire burning bright
And their souls dancing at the sight
The two lovers slowly embrace
And begin to admire how their love got them to this place.
