King of the Jungle
Unrelenting predator
Masterful stalker
-Skill to take down the wildest of beasts
Calculated and opportunistic
Take it to the line and kill
Or intimidate and take the carcass?
-Always thinking of the next conquest
Constant internal and external evaluation
What stamina is available, his scents left behind?
Indicators of his presence, intentional or not?
-Always surveying the next conquest
The Savannah a plentiful provider to the pragmatic
An open range with varying complexity of prey
Easy to eat for a day but continued hunting required
-How much sustainment needed?
Pride, the killer of this King
Conqueror of the unconquerable
To him, nothing is out of reach
-Until he is the opportunistic carcass

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem has a very specific meaning to me - but I hope each of you will get from it what you need or want. That's the beauty of poetry and how I try and write. This should mean something different to each of you whilst keeping some sort of common theme - I hope. Enjoy!

Thanks Tony!
Welcome
Crazy how living even a minute of pondering what it means to be alive can feel like it's kill or be killed...and in a way, it is. More good stuff. 👍🏼
