The Nightmare Cinema

TrystanBehm

Isolation my straightjacket in a room of free bodies

Inability or unwillingness to loosen the straps

Liberate my limbs and broaden the horizon

If I could summon Houdini I would go as far;

As my legs would take me, touch everything tangible

See everything visible – cross points off someone else’s map

I am still here – bound internally by fused emotions

Fluid crashing violently against the inner wall of the cast

The same movie on constant loop in my mind’s eye

           -Hindsight the devil in charge of the reel;

            Projecting memories that don’t exist

            From decisions I didn’t make.
