She hid behind
A painted portrait of delicacy.
The luminous light
Radiating from her halo
Outshone the devil horns
Hidden below.
People don't understand
Not even the most beautiful of angels
Are pristine.
She tried her hardest to be perfect.
But perfection is only found
When people look into the world
With rose coloured glasses.

Thank you! I was worried whilst writing this poem that people wouldn't understand it, I am so happy you do!
This is so true! And well written. Great job, Skye!
I'm glad you understand it! Thank you Christina!
Beautifully written, skye. After reading it the Bellamy Brothers came to mind with: If I swore you were an angel, Would you treat me like the devil tonight…
Thank you Fred! I have no clue who the Bellamy Brother are if I am honest haha!
Here they are with the song I referred to. Check it out!
