What do you want?

edwinknox

Is it cliché to write about a girl?

Well it’s too bad I don’t care

When I put my pen on paper

She is the motivation behind every stroke

When I feel like giving up

She makes me want to draw another breath

All the pain and sorrow

She washes it away

Leaving me refreshed

Like the cool after spring rain

She asked me once

“What do you want?”

If only she knew

That all I want is her

Not just the good times

I want the bad

Not just the tears of laughter

The tears of sorrow too

Anything and everything

As long as she is mine

I can do anything

If I can just have her by my side

I asked her once

“What do you want?”

She told me she wanted love

And I started breaking down

She told me she wanted happiness

And I couldn’t keep it together

I don’t really know

If I can give you all you want

But I know I can try

Because you are all I need

The moment I saw your face

The first time I heard your laugh

All these moments I will never forget

I can never get enough of you

Together we can create memories

Ones that will last forever

And as we lay together at the end

We will be happy

Just you and I

Forever at each others sides
