Beware The Three

Beware The Three

Like a serpent climbing up

There grows some ivy you dare not touch

Winding around with poisonous leaves

Waiting there so patiently

And on the ground a poison grows

As if oak around one’s toes

With its telling “leaves of three”

Saying to all beware of me

Poison sumac also spreads

Though it a little shrub instead

With its berries to deceive

The poison waiting in its leaves

Together the three invite passers by

To their green so much alive

With nature guides pointing out

The poisonous ones found about

I have tangled with at least two of these - Good description! (Did you know horses can eat poison ivy and it doesn't bother them at all? Just for fund of information you will probably never use!) Enjoy your day wc!

Thanks Lorna. I did not know about poison ivy and horses. A very interesting little fact. Have a great day, and again, thanks for your input.
