of Teacups and Nothingness

Anais

In a cupboard tucked away

defeated and done.

Stood a little teacup

it was far away from home.

The cupboard had a note which said:

No emotions here!

But inside stood the teacup

who was paralysed with fear.

Then came the day it ventured out,

completely on its own

hopeful of finding love and light

in another zone.

The cupboard world was messy

and no one cleaned it up.

Save when little teacup did,

but it was not her job.

Empty now the teacup was

worried she had spilled

without a single precious drop

it longed now to be filled

Meanwhile not too far away

a teapot had a lonely day,

with gusts of rain and clouds of grey:

on the lookout too it was

to find not just a friend,

but someone who would share a life

that wouldn't have to end.

The teapot full of water,

afraid to try again.

Yet overflowing as he was

he leaveth soon his den.

That day as fate would have it,

the two united up

never more to be alone.

The teapot and teacup.

Great metaphor. I see a lot more behind this poem than is visible to the eye! Well written!
