Rushed

Sierra

Rushed
People say the past is the past,
but how am I supposed to heal
when you moved so fast
just to please your sex appeal.

People say with time, you’ll be okay,
but my perception of time is mistaken
because even when I’d say not today
you thought you could still break in.

Even with all of this advice,
the memory still lingers
of when I had to pay the price
so you could use more than your fingers.

I can’t wait for the day
I won’t think twice when someone holds my hand,
knowing I am finally okay
and that I’ve reached the promised land.
