Sundays

edwinknox

I used to look forward to Sunday

Because that was our day

We would escape from reality

And let ourselves drift away

I remember laying on your bed

Staring deep into your eyes

I could feel myself shaking

As I pressed my hands to your thighs

These moments we shared

The chemistry was there

The intimacy had to be real

But I guess you didn’t care

When I leaned in for the kiss

I didn’t know this was what you’d do

You took aim at my heart

And shoved a spearhead right through

Now I don’t like Sundays

Because we don’t spend them together

And the feeling of your lips on mine

Is something I will dream of forever
