Lots Of Cold
A bit of sunshine, lots of cold
Lots of jackets, lots of coats
A gust of wind, a weather vane
An umbrella too, a little rain
A norther front, still more ice
Cars colliding, sleds that glide
Walkways shoveled, icicles hanging
Wood stoves going, rooftops straining
Skies all cleared and stars there brighter
Forecasts predicting snowbanks higher
Businesses closing, schools letting out
Cars with chains and trucks with plows
Evergreens green and other trees white
Clouds clearing and full moon nights
Frozen ponds and ducks about
Kids skating and parents’ shouts
Time indoors and board games played
Hot chocolate sipped and coloring all day
Cabin fever and restlessness
Jumping jacks while playing chess
