Feelings of The Suicidal

C.P.O

There's nothing worse than being in pain, of the body and the brain.

Cause when the body needs escape, the only place is in the brain.

And in your brain you take a trip, to a wrecked and sunken ship.

Once inside you'll find you've died, in your broken, watery, mind.

And then your body feels its drowning, cause in your mind your ghost is howling.

Round and round the cycle goes, and your so tired, but no one knows.

Cause on the outside, you fake a smile, hoping, praying to hide awhile

In this lie you try and sell, while your brain and body are in hell.

This works awhile or so you think, and then you really start to sink.

Until finally you close your eyes, hoping one last time you'll die!

Cause you can't take just one more minute, of this life and all things in it.

And in the darkness you find peace, because your pain's not on repeat.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I suffer from PTSD and Borderline Personality disorder. I write poetry to spread awareness to the very real suffering that mental illnesses causes to those who have them and those around them. This poem was written October 21, 2017, days before I found out what was going on in my mind after being hospitalized from a suicide attempt. Being aware as an outsider can save a life.

As a person who suffers from depression I often find my self in this mind set. This poem really connects to the way I feel.
