The circle of my life

pr3ttyshad0ws

Every creature feels the weight in their eyes as sleep inches closer until the sky is awake and the sky is asleep and the sky is awake again

Dark turns to light turns to dark and they sleep and eat and fight and live by the cycle of the sun

Hunt to eat to live to run to not be eaten

Yet I run to you and you swallow me whole

The heat of your skin against mine is warmer than the rising sun

Cool nights so close to you I can feel the rise and fall of your chest better yet my circle of life begins and ends with each inhale and exhale

Love to live to be loved to not be broken hearted

So tired my eyes are so heavy weighing down my dreams coaxing nightmares to wake me from my restless sleep

Scream to wake to fight the demons again to run to not be eaten

But you chase after me and you swallow me whole

The sun burns the desert sands no rain of tears because dry eyes come with numb minds forced not to feel the hands on bruises wrists painted black and blue like the sky and the clouds that bring rainstorms

Live to love to hurt to run to lose to die

This is the circle of my life
