She is slipping through the cracks

sinisterdragon321

She is slipping through the cracks
Left unnoticed by everyone In Her path
Never has she had the spotlight
She had just been left
Left behind
She has been stripped of all attention
Now there is nothing
She is falling from his grasp
Trying to get back
He is too focused on the pearl
And now he is losing the other girl
So now she is slipping through the cracks
Please don’t worry about the pearl
And help the other little girl
She is worth more
More than any other in the world
Don’t let her
Slip through the cracks
She is slipping through the cracks

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a poem about my little sister. Our mom left when she was three and ever since then she’s been begging for attention. I have too. The only difference is I’ve gotten attention, she hasn’t. My dad told me a simile that I was a pearl and my little sister is the sand. If he keeps worrying about the pearl, the sand will slip through his fingers. That is what this poem is about.
