A friend indeed

Poetic25

We each have a story to tell,
whether mighty or somewhat frail.
sharing a smile or shedding a tear
together we’ll lend our open ear

When a friend begins to shares their tale

Be still and sit and together- inhale.

Listen closely to how they feel

As we can never know what they may reveal

A helping hand and warm embrace,
allow a friend to set the pace.
Hearing someone in their thought
may help with a time that once was fraught.

Giving time is all they may need
without a weakness to concede.
So when we listen, make sure we hear
what maybe said by a friend we love so dear
