New Humiliation

Raymond

New Humiliation

Shall I write about humiliation?

Spun out of control,

Still reeling from a blow,

Struck 40 years ago,

Ticking, shaking,

Shallow breath barely satisfies, the

Ultimatum of burning lungs

I can’t tell any face from any other,

 Surrounded by savages

~~~~~~~~~
Bold statements, that
No one – including me – believes,
Asking for help,
Emergency within my mind,
Frantic and despairing,
High pitched version of my own voice,
Alone in a comfortable room
Rocking to and fro
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Someone is looking

In mute derision,

Palpable in his pausing

Response via the safe distance of the wire

I sense his gratitude, that

He will soon hang up,

 Leave me alone

Alone with this old, old madness

This new humiliation
