Life

edwinknox

Life has a twisted way
Of showing us what we’re worth
We must first be broken down
So that we may be built strong again
We learn the most about giving our love
When there is none for us to receive
We learn the most about friendship
As we watch our bridges burn
They once stood so strong
Now they are reduced to ashes
But we must always persevere
Because the bridges that crumbled
Are always replaced with ones of stronger material
The friendships we lose
Are always replaced by ones of better quality
And if you always give your love
One day you will find someone
Who will take all your love
And in return give you theirs ten fold

hello, sometimes our bridges are burnt , things fall apart, .. only so we can get up , much stronger again ! maybe . maybe thats true, not sure.. but i like your ideas in this one and i enjoyed your poem

i especially love this line ..

        the bridges that crumbled
Are always replaced with ones of stronger material

i like your idea here, of an actual bridge, a bridge has to be stable enough to hold us still and if it falls then it clealry is not strong enough

Very glad you like this line. It was particularly difficult for me to be this optimistic when writing this, and to be honest it was more for someone else and not even me lol. Thank you so much for your comments!
