Banging on the Bandit

Edthepoet

Giving up the gear
Coz his childs nearly here
Going out with a bang
Not a thought for the hang
Shouting down the microphone
Karaoke calling all lost souls..

Living for last weekend
Setting new council estate trends
Hand to mouth and tongue in cheek
Debt collection hide and seek
Resurrected by the speed
These chemicals hit his blood stream

Banging on the bandit
His girl can not stand it
Another night alone for three
A love full of empty promises
Shouldve listened to her mum
He was never the one
To take her away from round here

But maybe this time next year
When he's given up the gear
Coz his childs nearly here
He'll stop living in fear
Of a night without a beer
And she won't cry these tears
And the piss stained floors
And the guiness half poured
And the tribute singers thoughts
On the lack of applause
And the barmaids draws
She once found in his shorts
Will be nothing but a distant memory, of who he never really use to be.

Your stuff is always down to earth and hits the nail smack on its head.
"Hand to mouth and tongue in cheek
Debt collection hide and seek" I just loved those lines.
This goes into my favourites. Thank you.
