Spirit Prayers

Jaybirdy1

Carve of me a flute great spirit

 If im a worthy reed

Let me be  the hands you use

And lungs through which you breathe

Teach me now your song great spirit

That i may know and sing

Bestow upon me cosmic rhythm

Flow throuought my being

Cleanse me with your waters

And Forge me by your flame

Make of me a useful thing

And call on me  by name

Speak to me in silence

And show to me of truth

Grant to me your guidance

As i long to follow you

  • Comment from author about the poem: I find power in prayer as well as in poetry. I also find putting prayer to poem magnifies the power of both and gives artistic life to reverent intent.
