As I search the white clouds, softly clinging to my feet
In-between my bare toes, soothing and tickling as I go
My radiant skin feel so warm, on the fluffy sheet
On top the world viewing the magic whilst my steps are going slow.
A flock of the purest white doves, carefully guiding me
Their sweet song depart my fears of quietly trespassing the holy strange.
I could not wait for a lifetime, God forgive me. I will get on my knees
For you, but my broken heart is stubborn and will not change
God, you know I want to forget but I can not, you have seen how hard I tried,
I will not go home it is too late to turn back, I am near
Not now! I have got nothing but only the lonely years, I cried
My hands tightly gripping the golden gates, weeping at the angel's voices that I can hear
Please let me into Heaven, with the word; "I am sorry". As I painfully crumble to the floor.
Just a sweet innocent smile from my angel, is all I need. I know he is here
Then I will go back home I swear. Just one more.
As the clouds tickle my bare feet, I know I am near
Lord, I will stand here at these stupid golden gates
For years and years, waiting for one more gorgeous smile ......
From my angel, in my tearful desperate straits
As I sob, just how much have I been wandering, searching for miles
