The Wayside

Edthepoet

She had eyes
That could comprises
The most honorable of minds
And though he caught them
Once or twice
He wasn't sure if he was right
In thinking that this was
One of those moments in his life
Where if he doesn't take
A leap of faith
He'll fall down by the wayside
Where many a better man
Lay Still trying to find
A way to comeback
A way to climb
Out of the wayside.

She had eyes
that could synthesise
The most metallic of bass lines
And though she's been round once or twice
She's still sure that mister right
Is waiting right in
Front of her nose with a perfect line
And if she doesn't take
A leap of faith
She'll fall down by the wayside
Where many a better woman
Lay still trying to find
A way to come back
A way to climb
Out of the wayside
