Late at night,
Her phone sings a tune.
An enticing melody.
A name flashes .
Her eyes become glowing stars.
Her fingers dart to the screen.
But halt before hitting it
They hover above the two
Choices.
Green or red.
Answer or deny.
Part of her needs to hear
His dulcet tones.
Part of her
Can't stand the sight of his name.
Why does a beautiful, young girl
Measure her self worth
On whether he bothers to
Call or even message.
It's the tale as old as time.
A girl,
Infatuated by a boy
Who has done nothing to
Deserve her.

i like this 🙂 you speak true words . so many girls fall for guys who do not treat them the way they deserve . i enjoyed reading this , i like how you brought in the conflict of emotions her wanting to answer the phone and not wanting to , infatuation but annoyance
Thank you! I am so pleased you liked it 🙂
Skye,
Your message is loud and clear! Measure your own self worth! You’re the only one who has the power to do that! If you depend on him, he’s not worth and doesn’t deserve that green choice!

This poem wasn't actually based off me but thank you for reading it and the favourite! 🙂
It's been going on for ages. Boy wants girl, girl wants boy. But they're both afraid to admit it. A great write though sky.
Exactly AP! Thank you for the fave 🙂
I like that this is relatable. It happens to older girls too.
Thank you!
