Life & Water

Jose Elias Ortiz

Life is like water, uncontrollable and presenting itself in many forms. Sometimes it comes in the form of an ocean, crashing violently onto the beach. Taking with it even the strongest man, pulling him out further and further from the safety of the shore. Just as a bird with a broken wing will fly, is as one may fight a current and not be swallowed by the endless depths of the tide. At times, life can be overwhelming with waves, Feeling as though we are gasping for a breath as we fight to keep our head above the surface. Hopeless against the awesome power of life. Other instances, it is calm and placid as a lake. Effortlessly navigating your sail, choosing your direction with nothing holding us back. We are gliding through smooth times, enjoying the glimmering, warm waters, breathing in fresh air and appreciating the gentle moments. It is difficult to see over the tall waves of the ocean, but there is a lake that exists if you can make it to shore.

hello jose .. brilliant first entry ! i very much enjoyed reading this , your mention of waves crashing violently onto the beach , and the '' lake that exists if you can make it to shore'' .. sometimes we simply feel consumed by too many waves in life and we feel like we are sinking underneath a harsh depth which we struggle to escape from , other times like you said , the waves are gentle. i love your wording throughout this. nicely done !
