Subliminal eyes.

Whitbypoet

Help me climb up the staircase to see you once more

just a glimpse of your face through your half open door,

just a glance from your ageless subliminal eyes

before the last vestige of evening dies,

And then let me reach out to where fingertips touch

for I've never felt need of your presence so much,

let me hide in your whispers and bathe in your prayers

when I blow out the light at the top of the stairs.

Help me dance through your music and drink from your wine

help me savour the sense of a spirit divine,

there is only omnipotence if you believe

in the gifts that you bring and the gifts that you leave,

make me safe and secure at the end of each day

in your same old redeeming and comforting way,

let the light in your window glow endlessly out

to those spirits so blind on the path of self doubt.

Give me wings for a morning soft wandering flight

let me flutter through shadows that blend with the light,

take my heart and my spirit on mystery ships

over oceans of sunset red liquefied lips,

that kiss dawn on the rise with their roseate glow

as its infinitesimal winds start to blow,

let me rise with the day and walk down the staircase

let me look up once more, at the peace in your face...
