The Times She Left Me.

kevin browne

The times she left me she always came home
There was a feeling without me she hated alone
But her sweet sugar glory of playing a jester
Lost her the hope of us ever being Mrs and Mr.

So allow our story to go something like this
That when we first met and I gave her a kiss
She fell over backwards and I started to worry
Then she woke up and blurted out a big sorry.

She gave me her hand as I said "don't despair"
She cuddled up closer and gave a good stare
Into my soul, she stopped and takes a look in
There she witnessed my soul and its sins.

We sat at the bar just drinking more than a few
When she said "I don't want any other, just you"
So I fell over forwards and opened my heart
To mention I'd love her until death do us part.

There was the mother of four kids or more
All singing together but so out of chord
Whilst mummy drank all the whisky and rum
I took all the kids and started to run

But when I bothered and blew her away
She hit the streets and had nowhere to stay
I passed her by and held out my hand
It's time to turn love on and time to expand.

We kissed and we snuggled down under the moon
A life spent together, it went past far too soon
We never broke free, our souls welded together
Those were the days when we sat under the weather.

The master of magic with love in the lead
Our love blistered and blossomed but in need
To cherish the moments which we do all the time
A love has inspired us which turned out real fine.

The emptiness when she's over the top
I wish her well and hope she can stop
The fussing and fighting gets in the way
The things we did and the things we may.

Love has no ending, love has the reflections
Love has the key, love has the perfections
Where if you allow it to indulge in such things
Therein our hearts is what our love brings.
