Young, Old & Wise

Edthepoet

Well I never intended
To become best friends
Infact I didn't like you
But that's hardly todays news
Its funny where we came from
Its funny how far we've come
It's funny how wrong we can be
About the little things that don't add up.

Well I never imagined
We'd become enemies
I'm not saying I loved you
But that's not far from the truth
It's funny until you remember
It's funny or else you'd cry
It's funny how wrong we can be
About 'well it made sense at the time'

A young man trusts his instincts
Yet knows not when to let go
An old man trusts his instincts
Yet still followed his soul
A wise man trusts his instincts
Yet let's them not take control.
