Gravity tugs to the ground ever so slightly
Apricots slowly rot clinging to the tree tightly
Secretly and sneakily comes by the grub nightly
To claim for food and rest the one most ripely
But one night before sunlight the grub bumped into burden
Gravity won in the night by exertion
A call from death made way to make demise certain
To the grub from a cat the scene only worsened
A focus, a stare, a soul-piercing glare
Glowing eyes cut through the thin foggy air
Cunningly and creepily stalking to where
The worm waited stunned entrapped in a scare
It cried for help and when none came it begged,
"Please don't eat me! I'm only fresh out the egg.
My life has just started! I have so much ahead.
Can't you go find something else to eat instead?"
The cat gave a laugh, rumbly and deep
And said to the worm it was its own to keep
"Don't waste your final words on me.
Pray to your gods and with them make peace."
So as the cat clawed up the tree the worm knelt and prayed
Hoping that a miracle would come make things okay
And right as the cat reached the branch it found to its dismay
The rotting fruit fell to the ground and the worm wriggled away

Really great!
Thanks!
i agree with hope .. this is a really fantastic piece of writing .. truly enjoyed reading ! 🙂 i love the story you told .. i love how you have given character and personality to both the worm and the cat ...the cats piercing eyes and the worms delicate, kind and friendly nature , scared and vulnerable . and i love the ending the worm escaped ! its prayers were answered. well done
