Night Terrors
Before I could really stand
I sat upon my bed
With horrors still in my mind
As I tried to clear my head
I had experienced a terror
With demons all around
And had feelings there of doom
With a cacophony of sounds
There were the creepy others
and evil things that crept
My nights were filled with horror
And they scared me half to death
My family all gathered
There to tend to me
And I learned they too had battled
With terrors in their sleep
Since then I've lived my days
And have dreamed a little too
They're the most peaceful things
And I pray they each come true
My family heard my call
And knew what terror was like
And I thank them in my heart
That they helped me sleep the night

Awesome piece of work!
Thanks Hope! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I think we all had some night terrors when very young. I vaguely remember a few. Great write WC.
Thanks AP. I had them too when i was young. Thanks for your support!
Good write wc. I've posted 'Knowing His Love' a couple of days ago, based on your poem 'His Love'.
Ok.. I'll look it up!
Nightmares are so lonely! You took us back there! (Quicksand was always in my nightmares!).......
Thanks Lorna. I always drove off a cliff.
w c,
I can relate all to well, w c!
During a dark period of mine, I’d have many. Presently, only once in a while! A fine write, my friend!
~Laura~
Thanks Laura. It's always nice to hear from someone with a similar experience.
