Sweet dreams

sweetpea

Long night of no sleep
A heavy, pounding head.
Thoughts racing, heart pacing
A night of fear and dread

How I long for the slumber softness
And ease of drifting dreams.
Of gentle hues and willowy blues,
Happy smiling scenes

Oh for the moment tiredness enveloped
And sleep is bestowed upon
Demons dormant, discard discordant
Turn over and yes, I’m gone.
