I thought I saw her in the crowd
Kissing lovers and holding hands.
I stayed right here just where I am
To witness her with another man.
She broke the lock but I had the key
As I walked down 'she's left me street'.
It was then I swore I won't lose hope
She took my love as I took to the Pope.
As the monkey played the Irish flute
It was I who won and took the loot.
I'm on my way to Champs-Elysées
To find a girl who knows how to play.
I shouted from the top of Notre-Dame
So she blew a kiss like a lovers lamb.
She looked up and as I jumped down
Then caught my fall as I wiped her frown.
We flirted, we pranced and danced tango
She feels my love and it's great to know.
We reached the top of the Eifel Tower
It was then I pulled out a magic flower.
With thoughts in my mind, I'd love to marry
My heart is shaded and too much to carry.
The light of the moon was fading on me
It buckled me over but set me free.
I'll remember her dearly in times to come
Least I leapt when things came undone.
My heart still lingers and I feel her pain
My French beauty who I'de never see again.
Now she's gone I can fly off alone
I settled with a new lady in Rome.
Life has lit up and I've lost my traits
Love has no ending and always waits.
Foregone conclusions can answer back
When this Italian lady gave me the sack.
Never give in to a love which you must
Be beautiful and keep that magic touch.
I've had a good rummage around loves loft
It has no runway, I'm never taking off.
I'll sit in the airport to find another plane
Will see you soon when I'm in love again.
