Feeling Lonely
I want to reach out
But I’m scared of rejection
I feel like an annoyance
I tell myself not to be so narcissistic
But I’ve been left behind before
More than once...
I don’t think I’m a bad person
I try to notice others
Especially when they are down
I try to help others
To get the focus off of myself
But I have my own struggles
I want others to know they are loved
To know someone cares
I don’t want them to end up

You make a good point that when we are so low it sometimes makes us seem selfish..... that's a hard one to climb out of.... but even little acts of kindness are helpful to others......and then we can feel better about ourselves.....
