I don't feel it.

Honey Silk

Sometimes it's hard to react the way other people expect me to. There are times where I simply can't force a smile.

Sometimes my emotions are rarely stirred which leaves the look of a blank canvas over my face.

Sometimes that switch just doesn't flick on and I'm left with trying to process how to properly be me.

Sometimes to avoid these events, I slip my eyes into a book till I'm nose deep within the pages.

It feels better to sink into the world that book has created so effortlessly while simultaneously slipping away from my own world.

In this time, I don't have to be a part of any scenario, the characters just go on and I like it that way. I don't have to share my two cents, I don't have to pretend I want to be there and I don't have to physically be a part of any of the problems they face.

Though all good things come to and end and I am suddenly ripped away from their world, back into my own.

My heart only grows fonder for the next time I will be able to immerse myself amongst characters that are unaware of my existence.

I just need time to myself, I don't need to be reminded of the outside world when I hear it almost everyday.

I just need to recharge and rest in my own space where the only language spoken is written out instead.

That's all I need. That's all I ask for. I'll return to the world when I'm ready.

But till then, you can find me in a different world than our own.

I've been through this, many times, and just recently have I stepped into the first inklings of reality. I don't like dealing with people too much, and I keep to myself. I was lucky enough to find some friends that I enjoy being around, which took quite some time. I honestly believe that you'll evolve from this when you find something worth changing for. Until then, just be yourself. There's no rush, just do your best. My mind is with you. Thank you for the work, and please keep it up.
