Love’s Flame

 

Our love was a wildfire

With flames burning hot

You fanned my every desire

But control it we could not

 

The flames got too high

And we both got badly burned

We lost control of our flame

With a lesson dearly learned

 

Since then there have been others

With their fires too

But when it gets too hot

I always think of you    

 

At times I've been single

With no one in my life

It's then I think of you

And the flame that roared so high

 

The flame that we had

Still flickers every day

And warms me deep inside

In a special way
