I used to like you.

I liked your looks, your jokes,

Your effortless smile,

The image that I saw.

Then I looked closer,

I saw your wonderful,

Hobbies, interests, life,

Who you really were.

And then I realized,

That even though you were,

Way out of my league,

I was in love with you.

I was such a fool.

So completely star-struck,

Reason left my mind.

I told you I loved you.

Looking back on it,

I realize I was blind.

All the signs were there.

You didn't like me back.

I was sad at first,

Though I knew my chances.

It's easy to reject,

Somebody like me.

Looking at him now,

So completely perfect,

I just turn away.

I never had a chance.
