Years Ago and Today

Born of a time stood still,

In a place where no one has been,

For a feeling that was not held,

In a heart that had no life,

You stopped it all for a life in joy,

That turned to hurt in a memory of ever,

Never to change in times to linger,

With visions of heaven in your eyes,

As a part of time your beauty in dreams survives,

To a place where I live alone,

To see, to say, to love apart,

In a world that has no life,  only for me,

All change, you, I, we all change,

To a space, a place where no one lives,

I see your face, your eyes in a smile,

In a world I visit for a time for a while,

Time is a cigarette and life burns it down,

Though for you I go on in my heart and in my life,
