You are beautiful
Vibrant green eyes
And a smile that could melt me away
You are talented
A masterful poet
With a breathtaking voice
You are smart
The way you talk about the things you love
I could listen forever
You are fun
No matter what happens
Everything is an adventure with you
You are always there for me
Giving me a shoulder to lean on
When my own two feet are not enough
Me
I am a mess
As much as I try to hide it
My world is spinning faster than I can handle
I am shy
I will never leave this shell I have made
I am too scared to take the first step
I am anxious
Deep down inside
I always expect the worst
And a lot of the time, that is what I get
Us
We could never be
As much as it hurts for me to say it
I know what you deserve
And it is so much more than me
Nothing will stop me from dreaming
And sometimes I am hopeful
That’s the scariest part
For hope is like a dam
Rising and rising
In increments that mean nothing
Until I must face the flood
