Getting there...

BreeG

I hung my curtains today. They black out my room.

You had me afraid of the dark.

Or rather, what was in the dark.

Since then I’ve embraced those demons.

The demons in the darkness, that is.

My demons.... no, we’re still at war.

They taunt me daily, but not in the darkness.

Im at peace in the darkness without you.

I sprawl out in my bed without you.

I smile into the dark. Without you.

I am better without you.

I really liked this - I felt the darkness and your resolution..........

Thank you both. I’m glad people can relate, and that it can be felt. That’s what I strive for with my art (whether it be poems or sketches) is for the audience to feel it.
