Gratitude

anon-ii

i remember it hurt
it hurt to feel alive.
happy.
lucky.
even if it was all true

it hurt too much
to acknowledge the fact
that i wasn’t
broken
crumpled
or blue

how is it
that it has become desirable
to feel lost?
alone.
hopeless.

when the world is so
inconstant.
so we should take this one
short
tremendous
beautiful gift that is life
and cherish it.

for it is the only one we have.

at the end of the day
a little happiness
never hurt
anybody.
