Voracious Young

Voracious Young

I like them

Flying

Singing

Perching ‘round while I am dreaming

The beautiful robin with its breast

One of my favorites to build a nest

With room service for the chicks

The young grow fat really quick

Spoiled to the catering with food and such

And constant care with earthworms much

Chicks hungry

With their mouths agape

The young beg there every day

For the catering to arrive

With a parent there at their side

And while serving they remember well

The thing that their mothers would tell

That to be a parent you must be a saint

And work hard ‘til you nearly faint
