Too Young

Plaisted562

I am too young
to have loved you for as long as I have

From top hat to tabard is too brief a moment in time

Millennia pass whilst creatures seek perfection
Time too short to accommodate our ever evolving love

Is our love older than the Earth itself?
Did we witness the chaos of colliding planets
Until an accidental equilibrium allowed our love to take form?

Did we fly together for billions of years
Through an ever expanding universe
Pure love with no expression but joy?

I think so
It is the only rational explanation
For the love we have today
