Blood Orange

Edthepoet

I'd make it all okay babe
I'd take away the hurt
I'd let it burn to Ashes
And leave it in the dirt
But how would you learn
What you're truly worth

When the sky turns blood orange
And the airwaves lay empty
Will you know what you wanted?
Will you be able to breathe?
Or will your inhibitions
Lay heavy on your heart beat?

I'd make it go away babe
I'd make today care free
I'd paint it on a canvas
And freeze it in a scene
But how would you see
What you truly mean?

When the sky turns blood orange
And the airwaves lay empty
Will you know what you want then?
Will you be able to breathe?
Or will your inhibitions
Lay heavy on your heart beat?
