From A Poets Pen.

kevin browne

A point or two from a poets pen
Revealing sometimes only but when
That this life may appear so differently
Its worth the wait but wait patiently.

My ink starts here when I can think
Don't miss a thing, don't even blink
My face nearly owns 2 million years
My soul has filled a million tears.

The planet of hope is wherever we go
To teach us things we don't even know
I'll write about beauty in some way or other
Like the one, I wrote for my mother.

Depending on what the world can see
Will be a secret because I have the key
But I'll let you in for a bucket of love
I'll tell your mum if it's not quite enough.

I can write glowing faces as big as a rainbow
I can make Cupid aim with his bow and his arrow
There'll be fun of course, and the laughter
There's something new, in the next chapter.

And if it goes wrong I'll start it again
If my pen leaks I'll take all the blame
I've smudged the paper unfortunately
I've erased a life or two so I can see.

Pretty paintings lined up on the wall
Watch a ghost catch them if they fall
Dirty old dungeons, shackles and bolts
Blew up the wars with a trillion volts.

Something simple something sweet
Turn a page over, turn up the heat
I sunshine down on everyone I know
Before they all knew it, it was time to go.

The longer you wait the longer it takes
Take twenty-six steps before it's too late
The jester in you has come out to play
Somehow my genie got lost on his way.

If your dog barks bark at next door
If the flea in your ear came back with more
Distinction malfunction in trying to rest
I think I'm a poet so I'm trying to impress.

If it fits but won't do the job
Change the lock and look up to God
For it's he who looks after you and I
To tell you truth, I've wondered why.

Oceans alive with cute little fishies
Sands who made two little wishes
One for History and two my memory
So please, won't you buy me a diary.

Hurry up horses, we have to go home
Not on this horse, not on my own
Camels make it so difficult to drive
I'm off out of here, glad I'm alive.

I wrote a movie for Sir Walt Disney
About a lover who fell to one knee
She said "yes" please, let's marry
She said "yes", it's Prince Harry.

It's time to bring this one to an end
I hope you like it and read it to a friend
Just one last thing you should know
Remember me please, I do have to go.
