I’ll Have Tea
Little teapot with your water
Share the tea boiling hotter
And let us have some tea together
With some cream there even better
And be sure to include a plate
With a place for the little cakes
And a platter for cookies too
As we enjoy our afternoon
Know the silver teaspoon there
To spoon our sugar with some flare
And call to the coffee pot
That it’s not the only beverage hot
And be there for the games we play
With a hand of cards most our days
And keep the tea ready there
To fuel the gossip that we share
Help us feel like royalty
As we sip our earl gray tea
And help us put our pinkies out
When our breeding we sometimes doubt

Tea tea tea every minute of the day when I was growing up - I had to polish a silver (mind you) teapot once a week - very la dee da! It served for every purpose (the tea)... miss my parents. Love your ode!

There's nothing like a good cup of tea and there's nothing like afternoon tea at the Ritz.
