Still Desire You So

Tirzah Juarez

Still, I desire you so

As the waves desire to climb

The farthest rock

Before the undertow

Where the shipwrecked ghosts

Decide to dock

And you still creep up on me

In the dead of some

Inescapable slumber

Our smoldering bodies

Could boil the sea

Devouring each other's

For the sake of pure hunger

Taunting me as a curtain

Swaying in June

Inserting just enough moves

To raise my brow

Life tells me I'll be

Forgetting you soon

Fictitious daydreams shall write

Our perfect ending now

Rest now these images

So tormenting to cope

The playback in repetitious defeat

Deaden my heart strings

To a perpetual C note

To another town, I long to retreat

Into another's arms, I will seek refuge

Another's lips I long to devour

Into another's tree,

I'll move my nest to

Another's biceps shall scale

The walls of my tower

I welcome any remedy

To release my blind heart's

Bind to thee.
