Lonely playgrounds, empty swings
children off doing other things
as they will and must, you see
the slide has rain and rust, I deem.
Crackled sidewalk, gray as the heaven's cliffs
above, the sky like folds of cloth, wrinkled
wind to whip through the streets and roads
all of which devoid and alone.
It's slightly cold, a little damp-
not much to do, but to take a nap.
Days like these are dog days' foil,
lonely and slow with nothing too jovial.
Though, it's nice to stay so still sometimes;
blankets unfurl themselves over sleeves
mugs of warmth and coffee drinks
and a little kitten asleep on my knees.

Very good image of a bleak and dreary day.... you had me wanting that "hot drink" - absolutely a day for staying in........
Kittens asleep on knees really is the stuff of poetry, I like your folded cloth sky too.
