Glass and Stone

MaddieJ

Glass and Stone

I am glass

You are stone

My shards are knives

can’t pierce your soul

I crumble in time

Rivers take you home

Dangerous

When I’m broke

Stained with tears

Painted in a mold

I am glass

You are stone

I am shattered

You are thrown

Right through me

I do not know

How to shield you

from the storm

Harder to break

Simpler to make

Heavier to take

Solid state

Covered in paint

Tossed by waves

Like a wake

For goodness sake

Higher stakes

My body breaks

I am glass

You are stone

I am see through

You crush bone

Each to their own
