POWER DRUNK

Esala

A cataclysmic collapse of a sense of dignity

A frightening loss of self-esteem

A worrisome fold of self-worth

A terrifying crumble of self-pride

He saunters like a lost child who stumbled upon power

His sense of judgement clouded by lust for authority

He is willing to trade all and sundry for cheap recognition

He is the very shadow of the devil

I look in disgust as he slithers away

I shudder in rage at the mention of his name

I gaze in utter abhorrence at the works of his hands

I quake in undiluted horror at the words of his mouth

May posterity judge him

May the voice of the people overwhelm him

May the horror of his hands live with and after him

May the waves of the oceans erase his name from the sands of time
